Discover energy communities across the EU

The Energy Communities Repository collects data about energy communities, in order to show their diversity as well as their impacts on the energy system, the economy, as well as social and environmental aspects.

Take a look at the map below and discover energy communities in your area or in neighbouring countries.

This map will be built over time - if your energy community is not yet featured on the map, scroll to the next section on this page to add your community. Any community that complies with the EU definitions can be added to the map

The Energy Communities Repository has just opened an online survey for energy communities across the European Union and the Western Balkans.

This survey was created to map energy communities in the area, as well as gain a better understanding of their impacts on a variety of social, environmental, economic, energy-related and governance elements of the energy transition.

By filling in this survey, your energy community may be added to the map, and you can help inform the work of decision-makers both at the EU level and in the Member States, in their efforts to support the development of energy communities.

We will appreciate any and all information you will be able to share with us by 24 September 2023. In case your time does not allow you to answer all the questions, we have highlighted a subset of questions as mandatory, that will allow us to undertake a minimal impact assessment, and add you to the energy communities map. This mandatory questions should take you approximately 15 minutes to complete.
