Public consultation on EU electricity market design open until 13 February

The European Commission has launched a public consultation for stakeholders to share their perspectives regarding an update of the Internal Energy Market Design.

If you are an energy community and would like to share your inputs with the Commission, the following questions are relevant for you:

• Section PPAs, Q6: Do you consider that stronger obligations on suppliers and/or large final customers, including the industrial ones, to hedge their portfolio using long term contracts can contribute to a better uptake of PPAs?
• Section Prudential supplier obligations, Q9: Would such supplier obligations need to be differentiated for small suppliers and energy communities. If Yes/No, why (not)?
• Section Consumer empowerment, Q1: Would you support a provision giving customers the right to deduct offsite generation
  from their metered consumption?
